Exploring a New Paradigm in Tourism – Different from the Ordinary
Lanta Island stands as a global destination for travelers seeking a meaningful and memorable getaway. If you’re planning a vacation on your special holidays and are looking for a travel experience that goes beyond the ordinary, allowing you to immerse yourself in the breathtaking nature and the local way of life on Lanta Island, WheretogoLanta is delighted to offer you just that.
We invite you to embark on a journey to explore the stunning underwater world, filled with vibrant coral reefs that are rare to find in Thailand. Additionally, engage in boat excursions and activities with the local fishing communities of the Urak Lawoi tribe.
The Urak Lawoi people are a seafaring community with a profound knowledge of the marine areas around Lanta Island. If the sea is considered a home, then this community is undoubtedly the true owners of that home. This means an opportunity for you to travel underwater with the real masters of the sea, who know and understand the area exceptionally well.
Savor the satisfaction, smile freely, and travel in comfort
In the realm of travel, the stories created during the journey are special, valuable, and memorable. We have added a new dimension to this extraordinary journey through a variety of activities, encompassing travel experiences, relishing the local delicacies of the seafaring communities, and fostering connections with one another.
We believe that everyone visiting Lanta Island is a new friend, a welcomed guest, someone eager to share their precious time to learn about life experiences in our area. We want to actively participate in creating these experiences together.
The local seafaring cuisine we present through various activities features fresh and clean seafood sourced directly from the sea of Lanta Island by local fishermen. We aim to enhance the overall culinary experience, allowing everyone to taste the authentic flavors of the sea and truly feel what it’s like to live by the coast.
Traveling with Understanding and Safety
The first and foremost priority we emphasize is safe and responsible travel, both for the tourists joining our experiences and the nature we explore. Every living being holds significance, and when engaging in eco-friendly tourism, respect and consideration for all life forms become paramount.
The unique underwater attractions of Lanta Island are delicate ecosystems that everyone should have the opportunity to learn about and understand. These areas are not just the natural heritage of the local people but represent the collective heritage of all Thais throughout the country.
Because Your Participation is Support for the Local Community
The Urak Lawoi tribe is the indigenous seafaring community residing on Lanta Island. Despite the growth in tourism on the island, access to opportunities for the local people remains limited. The local community often lacks access to basic public infrastructure.
All the activities we offer are conducted by the local people themselves. These are the native seafarers who are experts in organizing these activities. Therefore, every form of participation through our various programs directly translates into supporting the local community.
